This 1 Thing Could Be Sabotaging Your Website
So, you’ve had a website for a while, but you aren’t getting feedback, leads, and new business like you used to. If you have seen some of your website traffic slack off lately, it could be that your site is violating one of the most important new rules of the Internet.
Bring up your website on your smart phone or tablet. Does it adjust well to the screen, so you can read the content easily without having to adjust your device? If not, your website isn’t mobile ready, and that could be costing you.
In April 2015, Google started penalizing websites that aren’t optimized for mobile devices, meaning that those sites no longer rank as high in mobile searches. People may not even be seeing your website now, even if you had good visibility before.
Some things to consider:
- Google found that 61% of people on mobile will leave a non-mobile site if they don’t immediately see what they are looking for.
- 80% of internet searches now come from people using cell phones.
- 71% said they would be more likely to use a site if it were optimized for mobile devices.
- 51% of people use their mobile device more than their desktop to access the internet.
With numbers like these, it’s impossible to ignore the mobile masses anymore. Your website needs to look good on all devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets and cell phones.
